Overheard

Secretary: Did Taryn* come back from the doctor's?
Chart drone:Yeah, she said the doctor put a stiffener in her.
Secretary: Good, that will help her.

JSplit is a handy little program that lets you split any sort of file into smaller pieces. The original file is left intact. A batch file will also be made to allow the files to be reconstructed

So if you want to send an email attachment that is for example 3MB, split it up into 1MB pieces, send them along with the batch file and explain to the recipient to save all 4 files to one folder and then double click the batch file. Get it??

I have used this program to send large Power Point presentations and also for program files.

Download Instructions:
You will need a zip program to open the download. If you don't have one, there are plenty of free ones available on the net. Click Here to be taken to a site with info and links about zip programs.

  • Make a new folder in the Program Files folder and call it JSplit
  • Click the Download Here link and select Save from the options
  • Save the zip file to your desktop
  • Right click the zip file that is now on your desktop and choose Extract - this may vary depending on what zip program you are using
  • Extract to the JSplit Folder
  • Make a shortcut to the JSplit.exe file

You can delete the zip file once you have backed it up
