Overheard

I found this site one day when I had nothing I wanted to do. Nothing spectacular but some funny stuff that people have overheard in the office, in New York, at the beach and everywhere.

I don't understand this concept. Why? Why does any person think that other people in society should work to pay for someone they don't even know to have a baby? Huh?

So good ol' Natasha Stott Despoja (although Destroyer would be more apt) is on one of her ridiculous crusades again. Natasha I'd like to ask you why you think that my taxes should pay for someone else to have time off so they can have a baby? Even if I were working in the private sector why should someone working alongside me go toddling off to enjoy the priveledge of having a child while I keep working and we both get paid?

Where is the money going to come from? Are you going to take it from the Age Pension, from people who have already worked and raised their own children without all the assistance received these days? Or perhaps the money will be taken from the hospital system or education?

People in this modern day of education and birth control should be quite able to make a careful decision as to whether or not they can afford to have a child. If they can't afford for the female to take the time off work then they should wait until they can and not be expecting the rest of us to pay for their luxury. I realise accidents happen but they are the minority and they should only happen once.

Having a child is a very special thing. Having the ability to have a child is not a given, many can't. How cruel to those couples who can't conceive to give their tax dollars to someone else to do just what they long to do.

So Natasha and all you lazy crusaders out there I say work for your own children and stop asking everyone else to do it for you.
